Puppy Inquiries

Please Note:

This form is not designed to determine if you are “good enough” for a puppy.  It’s meant to help YOU evaluate yourself and/or your family’s readiness to add a puppy to your life, particularly a pomsky puppy.  We also hope that this will be a guide to any questions you may have.

Are all members of the household in agreement to committing to a puppy at this time?
Have you raised a puppy before?
Have you researched, or are you familiar with the nature of the breeds involved in developing the Arctic Spitz?
Do you rent or own your home?
Are you willing to crate train your puppy?
Are you willing to establish rules and boundaries for your puppy?
Are all members of your household willing to teach and enforce the rules for the puppy?
Training a puppy teaches both what to do and what NOT to do. Can you confidently correct a puppy when he/she exhibits inappropriate behavior such as mouthing, resource guarding, etc.?
Do you realize that puppies are babies and need periodic naps throughout the day to decompress and get much needed sleep to grow physically and emotionally?
Puppies need consistency and prolonged training.  Raising a puppy is very time consuming, inconvenient, and often loud. Do you have realistic expectations?
Are you able to safely manage your puppy so he/she doesn’t ingest or chew up items in your house or yard?
Do you understand that how you raise and train your puppy is the single most important part in determining the future of your puppy?
All puppies go through a transition period when they first arrive at their new homes. Our puppies are in a routine at our home, but in your home you will have to establish your own routines with your puppy right away. Do you understand a puppy will not come to you potty or crate trained?
While pomskies are not typically vocal, some Nordic breeds can bark and “talk” more than others. A vocal Pomsky may not be a good fit for an apartment or condo. Are you able to raise a vocal puppy?
Pomskies are medium to medium-high energy dogs - will you make the time to properly exercise your puppy every day?
Adolescence is a challenging time. Dogs will regress in many ways during this critical time of development.  Your doting puppy will now be more intrigued by the outside world instead of you. A solid foundation will make this period of development much smoother for everyone. Do you understand the ground work you lay for a puppy is essential for navigating adolescence?
If you are looking for a therapy or emotional support dog, do you understand the puppy is relying on you to train and raise it as such?
The Arctic Spitz has some grooming requirements. Do you understand that the Arctic Spitz blows his coat twice a year and can shed some in between?

Thanks for submitting!

We are good at what we do - our puppies are bred and raised with a great foundation!  While we evaluate the very basic characteristics of each puppy in a litter, matching a puppy does not mean we guarantee a specific outcome. You have to be good at what you do!  We are not a personal training resource.  If you are new to raising a puppy or the breed, we strongly recommend finding a qualified trainer, preferably BEFORE you bring your puppy home - set yourself up for success with your new pup!

While we love this breed, we recognize that it is not a good fit for everyone and we encourage you to ask yourself the above questions and discuss thoroughly with all household members.  We will always be honest about the Arctic Spitz breed and your puppy!

Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have while you explore the possibility of a Foxfire puppy.
