Meet the Arctic Spitz

Often referred to as the Pomsky

Often referred to as the Pomsky, the Arctic Spitz has captured our hearts!  This breed is marked by its sense of humor, intelligence, and whimsical nature.  The pomsky is a robust and rugged small to medium dog with an alert, inquisitive nature and when well bred and reared properly, is very adaptable. Small pricked ears, plumed tail, beautiful plush to wooly double coats that come in a variety of colors and patterns, makes the Arctic Spitz not only beautiful to look at, but a pure joy to have in the home.

A cross between the Siberian Husky and the Pomeranian

This developing breed is a cross between the Siberian Husky and the Pomeranian.  Some lines incorporate other Nordic breeds to achieve desired health and temperament. Regardless, these combinations prove to create a charming and quite beautiful family companion.

The Arctic Spitz is a very bright, sensitive dog that responds well to consistent, clear training methods. Fearless and somewhat independent, families who can meet the Arctic Spitz's need for clear boundaries and physical and mental activity, will have a loving, loyal, devoted family companion for years to come.

Pomsky Sizes

The Arctic Spitz/pomsky comes in three different sizes.  Standard, mini and toy.  Because of the bone density of the Arctic Spitz, this breed can be heavier by size than other breeds.  The Arctic Spitz should be measured by height, top of the front of the shoulders, rather than weight.  For example, a dog can be 12 inches tall and weigh 22 pounds.  Density of a dog is a more determining factor than height with this breed.

Here at Foxfire Arctic Spitz, we prefer a dense style of dog with a gorgeous head piece, beautiful expression and a heavier boned, thick build paired with an intelligent, trainable and adaptable temperament.
